Most of us remember Sergei Fedorov as a dominant player for the Red Wings.
Now, the 43 year old former NHL superstar is attempting to make his way back in to the league.
After spending the past few years in the KHL, Fedorov appeared to be done making moves on the ice when he accepted a job as the general manager of CSKA Moscow in 2012.
Now, it appears Fedorov intends to make a comeback in the place where his career started with CSKA. In case you were wondering, he did sign himself. That's right. How awkward is that locker room now?
Regardless, Fedorov is hardly treading in unexplored waters. Teemu Selanne is older than Fedorov and continues to be a productive member of an NHL franchise.
That's not to say there will be teams banging on the door for a shot at Sergei. Fedorov will have to show something in the KHL before NHL teams will come calling but who knows? Maybe the Red Wings cuold use a veteran presence in the locker room...
