Nick Stiles throws a no-hitter against Shelby

Bath High School
defeated Shelby High School 2-0 at Boeve Baseball Stadium on Tuesday, June 15th. Sophomore, Nick Stiles pitched a no-hitter to give his team a chance to play in Semifinal game at Bailey Park.

In the Quarterfinal game Stiles gave everyone a great performance and earned him self a win for the tournament. Stiles threw for 15 strikeouts, no hits and 8 walks.

Stiles showed to everyone tonight why he is going to be a key asset to the Bee’s the rest of the tournament and for the next two seasons. The right hander had three 1-2-3 innings. He allowed 9 Tiger runners on base.

“Stiles came off just two days rest a little nervous about he would perform on only two days rest. To come out here, have that kind of performance and throw a no hitter was amazing. My team played the defense behind him, make a couple catches,” said Head Coach Robert Orr.

Stiles not only lead his team with his pitching, but he hit a solo homerun in the 3rd. Other players with hits for the Bee’s include Brandon Wahrer, Brenden Plemmons, and Brodie Megill.

“We’re thrilled we have been riding this underdog role, we’ve never been ranked and were trying to sneak up on everybody. Now we are going to Battle Creek this weekend and we couldn’t be happier.”

The performance given by Dimitri Innis should not be overlooked. He only allowed the Bee’s 4 hits in the 3 and 1/3 innings he pitched. Taylor Peters also pitched great for the Tigers, giving up no hits in 3 and 2/3 innings. Peters only allowed two Bee’s to get on base.

Congratulations Shelby on a great season this year! Good luck to Bath on your next game at Bailey Park on Friday.
