Concussions.

They are everywhere, so it seems.

Can we create a football world without concussions? Can they become the exception rather than the rule? NFL commissioner Roger Goodell thinks so. But is it realistic?

According to Goodell, there's a technique that can turn American blood sport into safe football. It's called "heads-up tackling," and he wants to teach it to the nation's children. "You have to have the right fundamentals. You have to learn how to tackle safely and how to play the game safely," Goodell says in this video about a "groundbreaking national youth football safety program" created by USA Football in partnership with the NFL. For the sake of saving the NFL, something has to. Concussions are a BIG problem. I know. And in this litigious society, it's going to be a bigger problem than we could have imagined a year ago.
