It was a scary looking situation as Niklas Kronwall was taken off the ice on a backboard and stretcher on Thursday night in Denver.
NHL.com says that Kronwall suffered a mild concussion and cut to his right ear while taking this nasty hit from Colorado Avalanche left wing Cody McLeod.
Kronwall was not taken to the hospital and reported feeling in his extremities after being taken off the ice.
For his efforts, McLeod was hit with a five minute major and a game misconduct for boarding.
Any suspension will be doled out by NHL Director of Player Safety -- and former Red Winger -- Brendan Shanahan.
The Red Wings tweeted last night that Kronwall is listed as day-to-day but will remain with the team as they travel to Phoenix for a game on Saturday night.
